Who Are You:
You are curious, collaborative, and looking to develop your research skills in the area of disability and labour market equity. You have previous experience supporting or coordinating research projects, including contributing to the development of research protocols, ethics review processes, recruitment letters, and data collection tools. You have knowledge of both quantitative and qualitative approaches to conducting research, including data collection and basic statistical analytic methods; conducting interviews and/or focus groups and analyzing transcript data; and writing research reports.The Role:
Reporting to the Manager, Research & Evaluation, the Research Assistant will contribute to the success of the research program by supporting the execution of research and contributing to knowledge mobilization across CCRW and externally. As the Research Assistant, you will work with the Research Team to support the development of research protocols and data collection tools, recruitment and screening of participants, coordinating and supporting the delivery of interviews and/or focus groups, conducting basic data analysis, and contributing to report-writing and dissemination of research products.General Duties:
- Conduct literature reviews on topics related to disability and employment
- Contribute to development of research protocols and data collection tools
- Recruit and screen participants
- Schedule and coordinate interviews/focus groups
- Conduct basic quantitative analysis of survey data
- Assist in developing interview and/or focus group guides and analyze qualitative data
- Contribute to creation of polished final reports
- Clearly explain actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders through both written and spoken means of communication
- Contribute to the development of knowledge dissemination materials
- Other duties as assigned by the Manager, Research & Evaluation
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline, such as social sciences, disability studies, policy studies, health sciences, or other related field, with training in research methods; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
- 1+ year experience working in a research role or as part of a research team
- Experience with research operations and application of research protocols
- Understanding of basic statistical methods and principles of data analysis
- Outstanding communication skills and the ability to clearly explain actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders through both written and spoken means of communication
- Strong organizational and time management skills and a keen attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently as well as collaboratively with a team and multiple stakeholders.
- Demonstrated knowledge and interest in intersectionality and principles of accessibility, inclusion, and human rights advocacy (i.e., legislation, attitudinal, physical, and systemic barriers faced by persons with disabilities)
- Proficiency in MS Office software (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams
- Professionalism, enthusiasm, and a keen sense of confidentiality and tact
- Self-motivated and comfortable working in a remote work model
- Access to high-speed internet at home
- All CCRW staff are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of hire in accordance with CCRW’s Vaccination Policy
- A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) is required
- Skills in Knowledge Mobilization (KMb) and developing KMb products
- Technical skills in PowerBI, NVivo, or other data analytic software
- French language fluency
