Paul Nixey (he/him) is a public relations executive who specializes in high-profile crisis communications for major brands, social profit enterprises, labour organizations, governments, and elected officials. A passionate advocate for inclusivity and effective governance, Nixey has served as senior advisor to Members of Parliament, and was elected Co-Chair of the Vision Vancouver Electoral Association, leading the party during three back-to-back majority governments. From 2008 to 2021 he ran a private consultancy with clients in Canada and the United States, before being recruited to a major Canadian telecommunications company. Nixey’s commentary, client work, and expert analysis have been published in the New York Times, the Globe and Mail, the National Post, the Georgia Straight, CTV News, CBC News, NBC News, CBS News, and OUT Magazine. He has guest lectured at Simon Fraser University, Adler University, and the University of British Columbia on the intersections of political power, issues management, and public relations. His previous volunteer experience includes five years serving on the Board of Directors of the Vancouver Friends For Life Society, an organization that provides complementary health services to those living with life-threatening illnesses such as HIV and cancer. An avid traveller, he has visited 27 countries and accidentally spent two years starring in a popular South Korean television show. Nixey lives in Vancouver with his fiancé, a small jungle of balcony plants, and an overflowing bookshelf of political biographies.
