New Brunswick Launches First Five-Year Strategic Plan on Accessibility

New Brunswick is taking a bold step forward! The province has launched its first Five-Year Strategic Plan on Accessibility (2025‑2030), aimed at removing barriers so that everyone—regardless of ability—can fully participate in work, school, community life, and public services.

With one of the highest disability rates in Canada, accessibility is key to ensuring that all New Brunswickers can contribute and thrive. The plan focuses on three key goals:
Work with all sectors to remove barriers – Supporting businesses, schools, and communities to identify, fix, and prevent obstacles.

Create a strong culture of accessibility – Raising awareness, providing training, and celebrating inclusive practices.
Develop and enforce accessibility standards – Setting legal rules for employment, communication, buildings, and public spaces to ensure full participation.

At CCRW, we are excited to support this vision by helping employers build inclusive workplaces, providing resources, training, and supports for people with disabilities to thrive in the workforce.
