At the heart of any progressive society lies a commitment to inclusivity and the well-being of all its members. The Canadian Council on Rehabilitation and Work (CCRW) recently took a significant step towards advancing these ideals by providing crucial recommendations for improving the Draft Standard on employment.

In our 8-page brief, we presented a series of carefully considered suggestions aimed at bolstering the Draft Standard, designed to ensure equitable opportunities and a level playing field for all Canadians. These recommendations, honed by our years of dedication to the cause of disability inclusion and employment, set forth a roadmap for a more inclusive and accessible workforce.

However, the true strength of any initiative lies in the collective wisdom and shared vision of a community. To this end, we reached out to our extensive network of organizations, advocates, and the community to gather feedback on our recommendations. The response was nothing short of inspiring.

Resounding Agreement with CCRW's Recommendations

The feedback from our diverse and passionate community overwhelmingly endorsed CCRW's recommendations on the draft Standard. We were heartened to find that our collective vision for a more inclusive employment landscape resonated with a wide spectrum of stakeholders.

Gathering Insights from the Community

To ensure that every voice was heard, we invited respondents to share not only whether they agreed with our recommendations but also to provide detailed insights into the reasons behind their stance. This open and inclusive approach allowed us to gather a well-rounded perspective on the matter.

A Total of 128 Voices

In total, we received feedback from 128 respondents who thoughtfully and constructively engaged with our recommendations. Each respondent offered input on some, or all, of the recommendations, reflecting the depth of commitment within our community to this crucial cause.
