Help Shape the Future of Accessibility in B.C. Workplaces

CCRW is Seeking ASL Interpreters and d/Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing Individuals for a Paid Research Study

Canadian Council on Rehabilitation and Work (CCRW) is conducting a study to improve employment access and support for d/Deaf and hard-of-hearing workers in British Columbia. We are seeking:

  • 30 d/Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals to share their job-seeking and workplace experiences.
  • 20 ASL interpreters to provide insights into challenges and best practices for interpreter services.

Your input will help shape recommendations to improve access to ASL interpretation and employment opportunities in B.C. workplaces.

Who Can Participate?

d/Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Participants:

  • Must be d/Deaf or hard of hearing
  • Live in British Columbia
  • Be between 16-64 years old
  • Be currently working, looking for work, or planning to look for work

ASL Interpreters:

  • Must be currently working as an ASL interpreter (including self-employed)
  • Work in British Columbia

What’s Involved?

  • d/Deaf and hard-of-hearing participants will join a 2-3 hour online or in-person focus group (Vancouver). Compensation: $100 e-gift card.
  • ASL interpreters will participate in a 90-minute online focus group. Compensation: $50 e-gift card.

CCRW will provide all necessary communication supports, including live captioning and sign language interpreters.
