An introduction to Prosper Canada’s financial tools and resources

CCRW and Prosper Canada are collaborating to bring our staff more knowledge on financial literacy through a nationwide webinar, catered towards learning how to help people seeking ways to boost their income and/or reduce their expenses by simplifying the search for government benefits using the Benefits Wayfinder. After identifying a gap in the knowledge of financial literacy and people with disabilities employment support, we hope this will benefit frontliners to provide more resources to the peole we serve. This is a valuable aid for anyone supporting people who are living on low/modest incomes to access benefits, increase their incomes and improve their finances. A variety of free financial tools and resources to help people take charge of their spending, learn about tax filing and tackle their debt. You will also learn how to help people seeking ways to boost their income and/or reduce their expenses by simplifying the search for government benefits using the Benefits Wayfinder. This simple, easy-to-use, plain-language tool is a valuable aid for anyone supporting people to access benefits. The tool includes information and resources from federal, provincial, and territorial governments, updated on an ongoing basis as new information becomes available. The webinar will include:
  • An introduction to free financial tools and resources to help improve finances.
  • A Benefits Wayfinder walkthrough using a "Persona" to highlight key features.
  • How you might use the tool to support your work with clients and the four ways to search for benefits.
  • An introduction to the Disability Benefits Compass which focusses on key disability benefits.
This 1-hour webinar is for anyone supporting people living on low and modest incomes and interested in learning about ways to help clients increase their incomes by accessing government benefits and improve their finances using simple tools.
