Overview
This workshop helps workplace leaders, supervisors, HR professionals, and team leads build shared understanding of disability, respectful language, and inclusive communication. Participants explore disability awareness, common assumptions, ableist language, non-visible disabilities, and why people may choose not to disclose a disability at work.
The workshop moves from awareness to practice by helping participants apply inclusive communication strategies in meetings, written messages, one-to-one conversations, and accessibility planning. The focus is on practical workplace action, not personal medical details.
Speakers
Stephanie Evans
Accessibility & Inclusion Training Specialist, CCRW
Stephanie works directly with people leaders, HR teams, managers, and staff to make workplaces more inclusive, accessible, and comfortable for everyone. Stephanie's style is plain-language, practical, and real — no jargon, no overwhelm, just clear steps people can actually use.
She focuses on the everyday moments that shape workplace culture: how we communicate, how we hire, how we support employees with disabilities, and how leaders show up when someone needs accommodations. Steph's workshops are hands-on, conversational, and rooted in lived experience, so teams walk away feeling more confident, not just “compliant.”
Steph helps organizations shift from guessing to knowing what accessibility looks like in real life, creating environments where disabled employees feel respected, supported, and able to thrive.
