Noor Al-Azary is a researcher and PhD student in Human Factors whose work focuses on assistive technology, cognitive processes, and accessible workplace design. She specializes in translating research into practical strategies that support workers across a wide range of employment contexts. Noor has led and contributed to applied research examining workplace accommodation requests, with a particular focus on assistive technology use across skilled trades industries and apprenticeship settings. Her work identifies both individual and systemic barriers to access, providing employers with evidence-based insights into what effective accommodations look like in real-world work environments. In the research informing this webinar, Noor facilitated focus groups with Deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) jobseekers, employers, and ASL interpreters to identify common challenges, promising practices, and gaps in current workplace approaches. By centering the voices of workers and those who support them, her work offers practical, employer-relevant guidance grounded in lived experience and collaboration. Through a combination of research expertise, advocacy, project management, and knowledge translation, Noor is committed to helping employers move beyond compliance toward meaningful, sustainable accessibility. This webinar draws on that integrated approach to equip employers across British Columbia with high-quality, actionable insights they can apply to create more inclusive and effective workplaces for Deaf and hard of hearing employees.Other Events
